Life Currently

It has been over a year since the last time I've posted on here! Life for Josh and I has changed SOOOO much it is crazy! I was going to write up a big long story about the past year, but if you are anything like me I would much prefer to look through pictures! So, what I am going to do is give you a run down of our year through pictures! ENJOY!

We took a super fun trip to one of my favorite places on Earth, DISNEYLAND! (Lets be real here we all know Pittsburgh is my favorite place on Earth!)  We had such a good time, I even convinced Josh to wear Mickey ears! (May 2012)

Seriously the BIGGEST/MOST EXCITING thing to happen to us this past year is...WE GOT ENGAGED! AHH I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with Josh! I got so lucky! (June 3, 2012)

We got to celebrate the marriage of two of our good friends Amber and Dan. I was also lucky enough to be one of Amber's bridesmaids! She was a BEAUTIFUL bride and we had an awesome time at their wedding! (June 2012)

Josh left for 2 months on RIMPAC and I was able to meet some pretty awesome spouses from his ship! (July 2012, yes this is from the homecoming but I LOVE this picture)

While the guys were on RIMPAC us ladies ran the San Diego Color Run. It was a blast! I swear I thought my hair was going to be permanently dyed blue! (June 2012)

I ran my very first half marathon! Since then I've run 4 more! (January-August 2013)

Josh and I took our engagment photos at Crystal Pier and Mission Beach! They turned out perfect! (Anyone needing awesome and affordable photographers in the San Diego area we have your gals!) (August 2012)

After living in San Diego for 2 years I finally got to see snow! (At SeaWorld's Christmas celebration of course!) (December 2012)

Maggie and I enjoying the 65 degree weather in December! SeaWorld's Christmas celebration was seriously awesome, I loved these white Christmas trees! (December 2012)

Happy 23rd Birthday Josh!! We celebrated with an ugly Christmas sweater party! (December 2012)

We celebrated our 3rd Christmas together! Our last  one as singles! (December 2012)

We celebrated NYE in Pittsburgh! I just love going home! I miss these ladies so much! Its always great when we spend time together! (January 2013)

Josh and I got to go to a Steeler's game while in town! It was FREEZING, but we had a great time! Gotta love those Steelers! (January 2013)

We went hiking in the beautiful Torrey Pines reserve with our friends. The hike ended with a walk on the beach! Its so beautiful here! (February 2013)

Harley is growing like a bad weed! He is 130lbs, ya you read that right 130lbs!! He's our big baby! (March 2013)

Josh and I added a first to our list...we ran our first race together!   We ran the San Diego 5K.  Josh was so motivating the entire time, I loved having him at my side! (But when don't I?!) (March 2013)

I spent the day on the ship with Josh for his family day! It was cold, windy and rainy all day but I still had a really good day! It think I confirmed on this day that I am NOT meant to be a sailor! (March 2013)

The next biggest event to happen this past year was in April Josh left for deployment. :(  As prepared as I thought I was I never could have imagined how hard it was to say "see ya later". I'm not going to lie it really stinks to have him away, but this experience has done nothing but strengthen our relationship. (April 2013)

Haley and I spent alot of time at the beach once the guys left! I swear the beach makes everything better! (April 2013)

Since Josh has been away he has been growing a epic stache (for him at least!).  I know I always say its nasty but to be honest, it's starting to grow on me! ;) I'd never tell Josh that though! (May 2013)

Josh with his buddy/roomie Nick! Josh learned to surf in Thailand! I am so jealous of all the cool places and things that Josh is doing! (June 2013)

I had to say another "see ya later" to my friend Haley. Her and her husband moved to the East coast. Josh and I were both soooo bummed to see them move. (June 2013)

Josh got his SWO pin and promoted to LTJG! I'm so proud of him for all of his hard work! (June 2013)

Josh and I celebrated our 3rd anniversary of being together. Believe it or not we have not spent ONE, nope, NOT ONE anniversary together! Even though he was away he still made the day completely amazing! I am so lucky to have this guy! (June 2013)

I've been spending alot of time at the beach. I feel like I am just a little bit closer to Josh when I'm at the beach.  Plus you can't be unhappy at the beach. No matter how upset I may be, going to the beach always makes everything better! (August 2013)

And that pretty much catches you up on the past year in our crazy, busy, and amazing lives! These next few months should be super exciting, so I'm going to do my very best to update this as much as I can!

Harley's First Beach Trip

Last night was the first time Harley has been allowed to go to the beach. I know, its hard to believe but he's 6 months now and finally done with all of his puppy shots! It was a big experience for our little (giant) puppy! He is finally getting into taking walks, so last night when we grabbed his leash he thought it was going to be just like his normal nightly walk. Oh was he wrong!  We walked him all the way to the end of the sidewalk and coaxed him onto the sand. He was hesitant at first then dove right in, HE LOVED THE SAND! (So much he decided it would be a good idea to eat some...) After letting him jump and play in the sand Josh and I felt it was time to let Harley experience the Pacific. Josh lead him down to the water, just as they reached the water a wave broke right on Harley. What happened next was so hysterical I don't think I could even retell it, but I'll try. As the wave broke, Josh took off to high ground to keep from getting wet figuring Harley would follow. One thing you must remember about Harley is that he isn't the most graceful dog on Earth, so when he went to run after Josh he (of course) tripped in the sand and got completely wiped out by the wave. The poor guy was terrified, he sprinted to the side walk and pretty much ran the rest of the way back to the house.  The plus side to Harley's misfortune was that because he was soaked in ocean water and sand, he got to partake in one of his favorite activities...BATH TIME. (Seriously this dog loves the shower, if you leave the door open to the bathroom when showering you end up with a giant black head poking in on you!)
Taking his normal nightly walk, he has no idea at this point what he's in for!
Some Harley lovin for me!
Josh digging the sand out of Harley's mouth.
Josh and Harley, right before disaster occurred!
I wish I could have gotten a better photo, but this is when Harley got wiped out by the wave!
The look of terror.
Shower time!!

Cupcakes with my Fur-baby

This past Monday our baby Harley had his man-parts removed. As sad as we were to put him though this experience, it was most certainly necessary. (Trust me, one Harley in this world is enough!) He did wonderfully with his surgery, as well as the recovery. He was a little loopy the first night, but by the next morning he was back to his normal crazy self!
Poor guy is stuck with a cone on for the next 2 weeks!
Breaks my heart to see how unhappy this cone makes him.

Yes I do!

This morning I had a craving for Sprinkles cupcakes, so of course I had to make the half hour drive to La Jolla to get some for the house! (Yes, I am that in love with cupcakes that I'll drive 30 minutes for them!) Just ask Josh I could honestly eat cupcakes for every meal.  I would like to think that cupcakes and wine should be a food group of their own!
Yum! I already ate one!
They even have doggie cupcakes!
So cute! Perfect for a post surgery treat!
Harley loves cupcakes just like his momma!
